Temple of the False Gods

As the blood pours, from red to green, I succumb

Torn by hatred, savaged by fear, I am numb

Never to know, never to see, the truth found

Why I’m driven, broken over, this gold hound

Let me scream this, let my blood, run clearly

So I can die, fade away from this, done cheerily

Why am I here, to witness these, falsities?

Am I alone here, knowing this truth, in celebrity?

In the end, so it seems, I’m driven by the odds

Never to worship at, the temple of, the false gods
